Poker Stars Omaha Tournaments At The WCOOP
Poker Stars run the ‘World Championship Of Online Poker’ once a year in September. Large buy-in Omaha tournaments are featured in the schedule and attract big fields too! The last (2007) WCOOP featured 5 Omaha tournament events (6 if you count the HORSE event too). These covered Pot-limit Omaha high and high-low + a fixed limit Hi-lo split event. Buy-ins for these high-stakes Omaha tournaments ranged from $215 up to $530 and included a PLO rebuy tournament with a huge $320 buy-in. Prize pools for these were proportionally large – with guarantees of up to $400,000! Satellites at Stars start from just $3 and are regular enough to ensure that everyone gets a chance to qualify. The ‘Full Tilt Online Poker Series’ event runs several times a year and features high buy-in tournaments in many formats. The latest series features 20 events, 6 of which include Omaha poker. Buy-ins range from $109 (for the rebuy events) and $215 for the Omaha freezout tournaments. 6-max is included in the schedule (PLO) and there are also ‘knockout’ tournaments which award a bounty for each player you knock out in addition to the standard prize structure. Full Tilt use a ‘tournament token’ satellite system to give as many players as possible a chance to partake in these high buy-in online Omaha poker tournaments. Titan Poker Omaha Tournaments At The ECOOP (visit now etc)
In inaugural ‘European Championship Of Online Poker’ was held at the end of 2007. This featured some huge fields and many big buy-in poker tournaments including 3 Omaha tourneys with buy-ins of $109 (+rebuy tournament) and $268 for the PLO tournaments and a fixed limit Omaha hi-lo tournament with a $109 (+ rebuy) entry fee. The ‘3-step’ satellite structure made sure that large numbers of players were able to participate for just a small outlay. Titan have a reputation for loose and inexperienced opposition and the ECOOP was no exception, we expect the next event in this series to be even better than the 1st!
